In registering children under the age of 13 for Connecticut Basketball games, programs and events or participating in Connecticut Basketball games, programs or other events, parents and guardians may knowingly provide personally identifiable information regarding children under the age of 13, including but not limited photographs depicting the likeness of children under the age of 13.  Please note that the Federal Trade Commission has implemented the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). The main goal of the COPPA and the rule is to protect the privacy of children using the Internet.  Accordingly, children under the age of 13 may be restricted from participating in certain features and transactions on connecticutbasketballassociation.org. 

While Connecticut Basketball does post photos of children under the age of 13 who participate in its various games, events and programs, it does not include a player's full name in any photo or caption or post a photo where a nameplate is visible unless a parent or guardian provides express consent to do so.  Connecticut Basketball strongly encourages parents and guardians to follow these same guidelines on social media.  By using any part of www.ctbball.org or participating in any Connecticut Basketball event or program, Parents and guardians consent to the collection and use of photographs depicting children under the age of 13. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use the www.ctbball.org or participate in any Connecticut Basketball games, programs or events. Your use of any part of the www.ctbball.org or participation in any of its games, programs and events indicates your acceptance of this Policy and of the collection and use of your personally identifiable information in accordance with this Policy.

If we make any material changes to this Policy, those changes will be posted here so that you are always aware of what personally identifiable information is collected, how that information is used, and under what circumstances that information may be disclosed.
